报告摘要:

The focus of this talk is primarily on the design of functional metal-based biomaterials and their biomedical applications. One example is manganese nanoparticles as a scaffold that are capable of coordinating with a wide variety of biomolecules such as STING agonists, siRNA, peptides (e.g. antigens) and proteins (e.g. Cas9) with the advantages of ease of preparation and responsive-release. Different approaches of anchoring metals on nanoparticles will be introduced including use of metal chelators or natural metalloproteins, and in situ reduction of metals on scaffolds. In addition, important biological roles of nutritious metals will be investigated and applied in immune regulation, synergistic activation of STING with STING agonists, and enhancement of gene editing of Cas9 as an enzymatic cofactor. We are particularly interested in harnessing endogenous nutritious metals. Going forward, rational design of multiple functional nanoparticles and their tremendous potentials as powerful therapeutic tools for metalloimmunotherapy and cuprotosis will be systematically discussed.
